I (Cathy) founded Cathy's Elegant Events in 2010.  Born in NYC, my family and I moved to the country early but kept our home in Brooklyn. This allowed me to grow up both in Upstate New York as well as Brooklyn, where most of my extended family still remains.  I spent my years after high school pursuing my love for the outdoors by exploring and hiking throughout the US (reaching 49 of the United States) as well as often traveling to Ireland and England. 

I then went on to receive a degree in Mathematics and Statistics. I have been an Event Planner for 9 years, once out of college I began planning events with my longtime friend Abigail Krisniski (who has since moved on from the company).

 We pride ourselves in fulfilling our clients visions while also adding a personal touch to make each event unique to that couple.  Our tag line is true to the core "We do not believe in "Cookie-Cutter" weddings!"  Although we are happy to work with all types of venues and properties, we specialize in 'non-traditional' locations. We love a challenge and thrive when given one!

It is rare that any event goes 100% as planned, for this reason we have become masters of expecting the unexpected and have amassed an emergency kit that would put Mary Poppins’ Bag to shame!
