Hiring Cathy was absolutely without a doubt the best thing we could have done for our wedding. At first we weren't sure we wanted to spend any of our limited budget on a day of coordinator- but we would have paid double what Cathy charged us for her excellent service. She helped us with everything- from what we knew we really needed help with, to what we didn't even know we didn't know- and she did it all gracefully, with good energy, close to immediate response time, and helpful and creative ideas and suggestions. She put us totally at ease through the planning process, and on our wedding day, did an absolutely fabulous job keeping everything running smoothly. I can't say enough good words about Cathy. Also, it is worth noting that we are a gay couple and did many slightly alternative things during the ceremony and reception. Cathy approached our ideas and desires with absolute kindness, and truly helped make our wedding day the best day of our lives.
Cathy was fantastic! She went above and beyond through every step of the planning process. Our wedding would not have been possible without her. The weekend of my wedding was so hectic my dog got loose at our venue and Cathy trudged through the woods in the rain with me for 3 hours helping me look for her. She handled each vendor so I could enjoy the day. She even helped finish the dessert table that was running hours behind in completion. I could not have asked for a better planner and her assistants were wonderful as well! Worth every penny.
If I could give Cathy a 100/100 rating I would. This wedding would not have happened if it wasn't for her. We were able to contact Cathy any day of the week at any time of the day. She helped us from the very beginning of the planning until the day of. She is extremely professional but at the same time came across as a friend. I would recommend Cathy to anyone getting married. She is worth every penny and helped make the most stressful moments seem simple. My wedding would not have been as amazing as it was if it weren't for her.
We decided fairly last minute (a few weeks before the wedding) to hire a day of coordinator, and we were so happy to have found Cathy! What a life-saver! From the start I knew I was in good hands, as she was able to narrow in on what we had left to get prepped, and took over corresponding with the vendors. She had so many helpful suggestions as we were going through the process. The day of, it was so nice to be able to focus on having fun with my bridesmaids as we prepped for the wedding. Cathy took care of all the set-up, and did such an amazing job. We had a pretty complicated wedding ceremony that involved a chairlift to a mountaintop, and the chairlift happened to breakdown the day of the wedding! Cathy seamlessly arranged an alternate plan and most of my guests didn't even know anything went wrong! We also had a few rambunctious, wandering groomsmen, and Cathy was able to keep everyone in line! Thank you Cathy for making my day so special!

From the very beginning Cathy was very responsive to our needs and wishes. She was very helpful introducing us to vendors who were like-minded. She never tried to "sell" us on anything that wouldn't add to our day. Cathy and Angie helped us with our wedding this past August. I don't even have to words to explain how AMAZING they were. They were supremely organized, on top of everything and wen't above and beyond. Cathy is a superhero in my book and I wish I could have her by my side through all of life. She was right there in the trenches with us and really knows her weddings. Above all else, she is one of the most kind and genuine people I have ever met. My wife and I were married this past August, and we worked with Cathy for about nine months to plan every detail of our wedding weekend. We wanted to have a very DIY wedding, but knew we needed guidance for such a large undertaking. Cathy was fantastic throughout the process. Starting at the very beginning, Cathy provided checklists, calendars, and periodic check-ins to keep us on track, help us know what work to focus on, and what could wait for later. She got to know us and our style, and made suggestions that we appropriate for our dream wedding. Throughout the wedding planning process, my wife and I repeatedly talked about how glad we were to be working with Cathy. I think we may have driven each other crazy without her guidance. As wedding week approached, Cathy became more hands-on and was a tremendous help. BOOK CATHY! My wife and I were seven months from our wedding when we had our first conversation with Cathy. In our minds, we had everything under control. We knew where we were having the wedding, so what else is there? Well apparently, more than we thought. There are so many different elements from the guest lists, budget, save the dates, invitations, decorations, officiant, DJ, Caterer, florist, wedding party, wedding dress, suits, wedding cake, table cloths, guest favors, bathroom baskets the list goes on and on. Once we made a physical list, things got real quick, and a sudden moment of panic swept over both of us. Less than five minutes after our initial phone call, we looked at each other and said, "We NEED her help." (Both of us are fairly stubborn and don't like asking for help, but this time we were in over our heads) Paige and I called her up, expressed our concerns, worries, also the panic and Cathy immediately came to the rescue. She calmed both of us down, assured us that she was going to get us on track, and that we had nothing to worry about. She provided us with checklists, weekly and monthly schedules, vendor sheets, multiple layouts and more! The next seven months went by so quickly, but our scheduled appointments kept our focus on one manageable task at a time. Any time we had a question or concern, she was a phone call away. Every time we spoke, Cathy's genuine excitement and passion for what she does was apparent. Her staff on the day of arrived early and reflected the high standard we became accustom to working with Cathy. Cathy is beyond incredible! Our wedding had a lot of moving pieces: we got married at our friends' farm in upstate New York even though we live in California, and we needed to rent absolutely everything from a tent to tables to sound equipment to bathroom trailers. There were a ton of details to coordinate and vendors to coordinate with, but Cathy guided us through the planning process step by step until all the pieces seemed to fall right into place. She was so on top of her communication, she gave us so much of her time, and she was so emotionally invested in the process that it often felt as if we were her only client. In the months leading up to the wedding, countless friends told me things like "You're the calmest bride I've ever seen!" My response every time was: "It's all thanks to an amazing woman named Cathy." Best of all, by the time the actual wedding day arrived, we were able to completely relax and enjoy ourselves, knowing that we were in such good hands. As cheesy as it sounds, my wedding day really was the best day of my life so far, and I give so much of the credit to Cathy and her fantastic day-of team. Do yourself a favor, save yourself boatloads of stress, and hire Cathy!
Cathy was an expert planner for what turned out to be a logistically tricky wedding at a difficult venue. Although it was her first time planning a wedding at Olana State Historic Site, she made sure we had everything in order that the site required (and the site required a lot!). She also lent her expertise to make sure that the day went smoothly for my guests and for me. She was creative when at the last minute, we decided we wanted a different rain plan for the cocktail hour, and did it all within the budget we already allocated. I had a beautiful wedding that was great fun for my guests, family, and my groom and myself. Because I had Cathy, I was spared 90% of the worrying and hassles in the days and weeks before the wedding. Speaking with girlfriends who have hired wedding planners, they are not all created equal and Cathy is the real deal, I would definitely recommend her
When having a wedding at a non-traditional venue it became clear that I would need help. Cathy handled all the details with my rental company and organized with the venue all deliveries and set up. I simply needed to review everything and agree! WHAT A RELIEF! Cathy is a professional! There were things she reminded me of that I never would have even thought of. Three weeks before the wedding my DJ backed out and Cathy had a new DJ and contract in my email within an hour. A true testament to her professionalism and her ability to build sound working relationships with vendors. When it came to the day of the wedding, Cathy's partner Abbi was a blessing. There was no detail left out and all potential crisis moments were handled with grace without me even getting a wind of it! They worked flawlessly with the venue and produced a beautiful day that my family continues to rave about. I was able to enjoy my day with no worries or concerns. They are talented women who know the industry and can provide guidance and advice in all situations.
Louis and I have entertained continuously during our 35 years together and had very specific points of view on what kind of feeling we hoped to create for our wedding guests.
We contacted several “Wedding Planners." All were perfectly pleasant, but seemed very interested in what they did and much less interested in what we wanted. Cathy Ballone was entirely different. First- she listened. She was confident enough and smart enough to know that she could not tell us what she was going to do unless she knew what we wanted her to do. By the end of our first meeting we had decided to hire her.
Cathy's Elegant Events could not have been more perfect. They thought of a ton of details that had never occurred to us, took responsibility for printing name cards and the like, organized our various suppliers and handled troubleshooting during the event. After the wedding, we learned that the venue had failed to mow the lawn under the tent and that Cathy had seamlessly handled this without troubling us, the morning of our wedding.
She also stayed on top of us in the gentlest possible way, forcing us to make necessary specific decisions in a timely fashion. She was extremely detailed and prepared a comprehensive schedule for the day of the event, which was both realistic and enforceable. Every portion of the event occurred smoothly and on schedule which would not have occurred without all of Cathy's work.
Cathy was a pleasure to work with, and we're so glad to have had her help for our wedding. She is extremely thorough when it comes to planning, making sure we had everything lined up, from big stuff like the hot air balloon (!) to little stuff like the number of forks. She was available to talk at pretty much all hours leading up to the wedding. On the day itself, we were reassured to know she was looking after everything.
Cathy is an amazing event coordinator!!! She is super organized and helpful. I hired her short notice and couldn't have asked for a better day of coordinator! She allowed me to sit back and enjoy my special day because she foresaw details that i wouldn't have known existed and then dealt with them, including bringing me one of her own tea dispensers! My fiance and I were excited to DIY much of our wedding. We wanted to be really hands-on but had no idea where to start. Cathy was so helpful in providing us guidance, structure, and timelines for when we should be working on identifying vendors and working on different pieces. She thought of everything! Logistics, back-up plans, and all the small details that never occurred to us.
Also, we live in New York City and the wedding was outside Hudson. Cathy was integral in helping us find some of the most amazing vendors. She gave us recommendations based on our personalities and what we wanted for our big day. We ended up having a fantastic team working at the wedding, all led by Cathy and Abbi.
The wedding itself was perfect and so much of that was because of all the work Cathy put into it months in advance. It was an an absolute pleasure working with Cathy and we'd recommend her to anyone with an upcoming event!
Cathy was wonderful to work with. Unfortunately, we had a tight budget so was only able to hire her services for day of coordination and some consultation hours. She was great, we had a DIY wedding at The Farm at Pond Lily (in a barn) so there were a lot of miscellaneous details that require tremendous attention to detail and good execution. And our wedding was executed beautifully, we were so impressed with her abilities to execute and help plan our DIY wedding. She was very on top of things and was such a good sounding board for DIY ideas and suggestions. She can also be hired to help create some DIY projects as well. I was so happy that we went with her as on the day of my wedding, I had NOTHING to worry about besides enjoying myself, drinking and dancing the night away with my husband. And this is all thanks to her organizational skills and her tips weeks prior to the wedding. She had many touch base meetings with me to make sure that she understood my vision. She's very professional and extremely responsive and can be easily reached via email or phone. She's just overall an awesome person! Loved working with her!
As a DIY-oriented gay couple, we definitely hesitated to hire someone to help us plan our wedding. But we were lucky to find Cathy, who not only helped us do things ourselves but relieved of us so many responsibilities and truly managed so many aspects of our wedding better than we ever could've. On top of running a tight-but-humorous ship, Cathy is not just an expert in what she does but a warm, calm and calming presence. Anyone would be lucky to have her along for the ride.
Cathy was awesome from day one. I can't tell you how helpful and thoughtful she was to work with. I really think her rate was completely reasonable especially given her level of execution. And she, and her assistant, are the kind of people we want at our wedding anyways. The wedding day was fantastic and I owe a lot of gratitude to Cathy and team. Cathy knows a great deal about vendors in the area. She's great with suggestions and ideas. I didn't have a lot in mind when I started planning our wedding, I'm not the kind of girl who pictured it exactly from the start, and she was really helpful in guiding me towards what ended up being a beautiful day (despite the rain). We had a couple of mixups with some vendor prices and agreements, but otherwise things went pretty smoothly. We had a couple of major hiccups on the day-of, but she handled things quickly and professionally. On the day-of, she is professional, almost to a fault (I make jokes when I'm nervous, Cathy does not). Considering I, A: hated the whole notion of planning and B: didn't live in the area, she was an invaluable resource.
Cathy did a wonderful job. Our wedding involved a number of logistics at a venue that didn't have a pre-packaged concept, and Cathy came through on all fronts to ensure everything went as smooth as it could have. I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for an event planner who is productive, responsive and knows the local market well.
