The couple's vision of a hot air balloon wedding was nothing I had requested before, but I was excited to go with them on the journey of bringing it to life! As a professional wedding planner and designer (aka chaos coordinator), my mind was awash with practical concerns: the logistics of lifting off with limited space at the venue, the timing with potential inclement weather, and the required insurance coverage the venue had duly noted. But as we navigated the unknown together, the impossible began to take shape. The result was stunning, its magic heightened by the unexpected bonus of being more cost-effective than we had expected!

Hot Air Balloon Procurement: Find your closest "hot air balloon festival" and see if you can contact the organizers. They should be able to help you find a professional company that is local to your wedding venue.
Be clear with the hot air balloon company about what style balloon you would like - you may want to incorporate this/these into your wedding design. (Unfortunately, we requested a rainbow balloon and the older gentleman owner of the company decided he would ‘do us a favor’ by bringing a red one to match the barn’ - the rainbow decor was beautiful though! :)
TIMING - Be sure you build this into your wedding Day-Of Schedule (including if you will have guests going up/down at any point) and include some buffer time!
